Belle Index is a marketplace that connects customers with beauty professionals and businesses — nails, hair, lashes, brows, skincare, waxing, massage and related services. We provide the platform. We do not perform the services ourselves, and we are not a party to any agreement you reach with a professional you find here.
You need an account to post a service request, book, or list a business. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Professionals registering as a salon owner or independent technician must hold a valid licence for the services they offer and must supply it for verification. We may suspend or remove a listing where a licence cannot be verified.
When you post a service request you are inviting offers, not entering a contract. You choose which offer, if any, to accept. Descriptions, prices and availability are supplied by the professionals themselves, and we do not guarantee their accuracy.
Unless stated otherwise at the time of booking, payment for a service is arranged between you and the professional. Cancellation and refund terms are set by the professional providing the service.
Professionals who take a paid plan are billed through our payment processor. Plans run until cancelled, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the period you are already in. Your card details are handled by the processor; we do not see or store your card number.
Whether you keep your appointments is recorded on your account, so that businesses can see who they are booking. A business you booked with can mark an appointment as missed. Cancelling within 24 hours of the start time counts as a late cancellation, which carries half the weight of a missed appointment; cancelling earlier never counts against you.
The record is bounded on purpose. Marks stop counting after 18 months. A single business can add no more than two marks to your record, so one bad relationship cannot define it. Appointments you keep count in your favour.
If you believe a mark is wrong, you can dispute it from your record page. A disputed mark stops counting while we look at it. We may remove marks we find to be inaccurate or made in bad faith, and we may act against a business that files them dishonestly. Businesses you book with can see your record; it is not published publicly unless you choose to share it yourself.
You keep ownership of the photos, reviews and text you upload. By posting them you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and resize them for the purpose of operating and promoting Belle Index. That licence covers showing your request or listing on the websites of subscribing salons through our widget, extends to the service providers who help us run the platform, and may be passed on to whoever takes over the running of Belle Index under section 13.
The licence lasts while your content is on the platform. If you delete content or close your account we stop using it, apart from copies held in routine backups for a limited period, and reviews that remain part of the public history of the business they describe. Do not upload content you do not have the rights to, or content that is unlawful, misleading, or infringes someone else's rights.
Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are fabricated, incentivised, defamatory, or unrelated to the service received.
Some listings and placements on Belle Index are paid. These are labelled Ad. Labelling a placement does not amount to an endorsement of the advertiser.
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw features.
To the extent the law allows, Belle Index is not liable for the quality, safety, timing or legality of services arranged through the platform, nor for losses arising from your dealings with a professional or a customer you met here.
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to harm other users.
We may update these terms. Where a change is material we will bring it to your attention through the site. Continuing to use Belle Index after a change means you accept it.
We may transfer these terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to another company — for example if Belle Index is sold, merges with another business, or its assets are acquired, and in each case to the company that takes it on. If that happens your account, your content and your data move across with it, and the new owner takes on these terms as they stand. We will say so on the site when it happens, and you are free to close your account if you would rather not continue.
You may not transfer your own account to someone else without our permission.
